My Policeman

Set in 1957 Brighton, Harry Styles stars as Tom Burgess, a closeted policeman who marries schoolteacher Marion (Emma Corrin) while conducting a secret love affair with museum curator Patrick Hazelwood (David Dawson). Since homosexuality is illegal in 1950s Britain, Tom's marriage functions as a lavender marriage—a cover for his true identity.

The film jumps between the 1950s and the 1990s (with Gina McKee, Linus Roache, and Rupert Everett playing the older characters) to show the long-term consequences of a life built on concealment. Inspired by the real-life relationship between writer E. M. Forster and Bob Buckingham.
